I had Crud Catchers put on my bike, but the noise that was coming from my front wheel after having them on was just to irriatating.

There is very little clearnece between the top of the wheel and the break (think waifer thin).

Is there any other type of mudguard i can use.

Hi

Just cut the guard so it don't go under the fork bridge. or it finishes at the brake calliper, depends on guard type

Ive done it with all types of race forks with no clearance / guards and running two bikes using this method including SKS, Salmons with years trouble free

John

Edit. Id just woke up

What size tyre you using? I had 25c noise was unbearabable. 23c not a sound but apart from when it's jiggers from sound to sound

Raceblade longs, I get zero noise form them other than over a unseen pothole, give full protection to me but less to the fron mech. They do not go under the caliper there is a metal brackets that the guards attach to under the caliper, and they connect ot the QR. Transofromed my enjoyemnt through bad weather.

Of and on in less than 5 mins

I had raceblades on mine. They worked, but they bounced around a bit on the rubber straps which held them and the alignment wouldn't take much to mess with.

My tyres 700-25, i only have a couple of mm clearance. Tryed cutting the crud catchers but the brake and forkbridge are so low i still get noise. I think i shall give race blades a go. Hope Evans have them in black.

Thank you for your help. It's much appreciated.

Thre are two type of Raceblades a short one that gives ok cover for your rear but not so good for feet from the front. And Raceblade Longs as per my picture. Evans I do not think stock the Longs

The longs are a proper full guard they just do not pass under the Calipers and have mounting system

Thank you for the info about the different types of race blades, guess it's a job for Wiggle. I don't want to change to 23c as the ride is just to harsh (and it would be sacrilege on my baby:laugh:). Tried the allen key and it wont fit through, it gets to just under the brake.
