Seem to be having trouble with this getting mudguards.

When I went to halfords to order the bike, The guy picked and ordered mudguards from the website in.
SKS Bluemels Olympic Racer Mudguard Set - Matt Black - 700c x 45mm

http://www.halfords.com/cycling/acc...pic-racer-mudguard-set-matt-black-700c-x-45mm

3 days later, I receive a phone call to say they can't get the mudguards to fit onto the front because of the fork or whatever.

I said it wasn't me that picked them and he offered instead the easy route of a clip on guard for the back. I declined and asked him clearly that what he is saying is you can't get perm mudguards to fit a boardman bike? - he's away to reserach haha.

Has anyone got any suggestions please?

The SKS Velo 47 trekking mudguards have two different stay options: U stays standard, and U stays suntour. With the MX you'd presumably want the U stays suntour option for the front fork.

EDIT
A bike radar thread about the 'boardman hybrid comp' includes:

"I emailed sks Germany for their advice as well they suggested the velo 42 mudguards"

Thank you.

I was going to get fiddle about with front strays on the bluemells and bend them and connect to the caliber bolt but prob too much hassle.

Velo 42 was my next thought. However halfords don't have them available instore or online. The guy was trying to fob me with velo 55 only because he had them in stock instead of offering advice. So I've ordered velo 42 myself off wiggle with next day delivery.

Thanks again

Seen the velo 55 instore and actually not that and compared to what I had in mind.
Although the 42 and 47 range are a lot neater / perfect fit looking.

I Received a delivery today of the velo 42 and it was damaged.

Also no u-strays ... I presume now you have to but those separate??

I guess I'll return and get the velo-47 with suntour strays.
