The roads are that bad on my commute that I am going to use my hardtail instead of road bike, can anybody recommend a set of mudguards for suspension forks?

I have one of these on the forks of my full-bouncer:

Keeps the worst of the muck away from you.

I personally wouldn't recommend mudguards for suspension forks, as they are usually made of plastic and will not really take the weight, as well as wobble all over before probably snapping.
Even the old steel or aluminium mudguards wouldn't suffice.

You're probably best advised to stick to normal strong metal forks with a proper gas damper and use mudguards to just ...well...guard against mud perhaps!

I'll get my coat ;)

Shouldn't this thread be in the Techical Section?

Yes you can get mudguards for susp forks. I have some. SKS commuters 60mm. They work brilliantly. If you ask nicely I might post a pic. Previously I had a Topeak Defender front guard which was crap in comparison.
