Mudguards on a Bianchi

obviously road bikes look better without, but i've got raceblades on my roadie for the wet and crap thats on the roads in the winter. still clean it twice a week.

No to mudguards?! How the CTC board haven't had you liquidated is a mystery to me!

FWIW, I'd have said no until this year, when I finally got sick of cleaning the shite of the vanity bike. I've fitted pair of crud race guards on for this winter. They seem to work despite appearances and are discrete enough to minimise the creeping shame.

Ah come on, some bikes are made to have 'guards on. Bianchi's are not.

The Crud guards I've just fitted to my Roubaix are so minimal and close to the wheels that you can hardly see them.

I've got a white raceblade on the back of my Bianchi (Celeste + White frame)
It comes off in the summer, but I will sacrifice some of my street cred for a dry bum, and it actually looks quite good.

I don't understand the whole 'no mud guards is cool' thing! A dirty great stripe of mud up your arse, and back, and all over your front, looks a bit gash doesn't it??

I suppose it depends on whether your prepared to put up with a wet bum and a long muddy streak down your back or not. Personally I am not so mudguards are fitted on both of my bikes.

I have just put some on my winter bike for the first time. And what a difference, not only keeping me dry but keeps the muck down on the bike too.
Not exactly cool looking, but the crud raceblades are the business

Well, I have two Bianchis. One is a tourer and it has mudguards on it. The other is a race bike, and it doesn't have mudguards on it. The one without mudguards does not get ridden in wet weather.
