today and despite the fact that i've pretty much read through the papers my Mum insists in reading aloud certain things to the room!!!

I've noticed this in a few older people. At what age does this start??

I can't wait to I start doing it and become a bigger pain the arse than I already am:laugh::smile:

Dont know but the stupid old bat on Radio 2 in the morning before TW seems to make a whole show out of doing this.

I love them when they've clearly been thinking to themselves for the last half an hour, then anounce the conclusion of that thought process at random. My mum is particularly good at carrying on her own entirely parallel branch of a conversation up to three new topics later.

I'm sorry, but if you insist on calling SK a stupid old bat I shall have to ask you to step outside!

Snap! I did this last week Campfire. Accompanied by the statutory grumble about the BBC showing 466 repeats and that it's disgusting to pay so much for a TV licence. ;)

Gosh 89? Wow I still see her as the much younger woman I met all those years ago:biggrin:

The sprouts joke gets funnier every time.
I am rivited to the debate as to the merits of Goose or Duck for christmas dinner that she has repeated all last week.
I am so pleased she reminds me of what Frank Sinatra said once about Matt Monro EVERY TIME she plays a Matt Monro record.

I think she actually died about 10 years ago and a Computer at the BBC is just playing random clips of her old shows again and again.
And again and AGAIN.

Round at in-laws we have got into the habit of having a quiz on Christmas day.

First few years I pitched it a bit too high and the hardly got any answers right.

So I made them really easy and this went well for a few years.

Problem is now my kids are 11 and 14 and they have been getting all the answers right in about two seconds.

I am now working on easy questions from years ago relating to things the kids will not have heard of and tricky things from now that the kids will get.
