Buy a Landrover.

In 15 years of Landrover ownership I've had numerous knocks and 4 accidents (one was my fault), 1 car written off, 1 car with nearly £10k of damage, the car I went into the back off had over a grands worth of damage, whereas I did not even chip the paint on the Landie. I only ever had one crash repair done, and that was one door replaced and that was only because their insurance was paying for it.

it will be difficult to see exactly what damage the woman has caused.

Which tells me there's no damage. So if that's the case. Stop wasting everybody's time inc. the Police and get on with your lives.

Unless she wasn't insured, in which case he isn't wasting anybodies time.

I had a look at the car today and saw that there was a large line across the bumper about 10 inches long.

Not so, with modern plastic bumpers it may look like there is no damage until you remove the bumper as the bumper will return to it's original shape. Have seen this many times.

If i where the op i would be checking the boot/ tailgate still operates correctly and if poss remove spare wheel and boot carpet to check boot floor and rear panel damage.

I think a few people have taken against Matthew's posts (because some of his insinuations are to be fair a little bit on the dodgy side - wheelie bin burning I'm thinking of you) and, well, it kind of feeds other people. Give a dog a name and all that.

I've been in a similar situation to this one. I was stopped at a red light when someone tapped me from behind (ooh err!) - normally I would have checked for damage and then forgotten about it. However immediately the other person was in my face about how I "rolled back" (doubtful as I was facing down a hill) and howthey hadn't got time for this, it was always con artists like me trying to make a fast quid, and they were late to see their [whatever - I actually can't remember].

There was no damage, so I shrugged and said no harm done... but in retrospect I regret it. No one reacts that way unless they're putting up defenses.

Another similar story. Coming out of a carpark some years ago I see a small child on a scooter on the pavement with his mum. I roll back to make sure they can get past but he loses control and crashes into my car, caused a decent gash as it happens. I laughed it off... what are you supposed to do in situations like that?

she didn't see your car due to your dad being in front of the light? (allegedly)

so if the car had been parked, lights off, would she have seen it?

i'm slightly confused.

Typical logic of a land rover owner. Some of us like a bit a of comfort when driver from A to B.

You drive a vehicle which is polluting the current atmospherical conditions and cycle as well? I cannot see your logic. Even if you live on a farm or up a hill, you still do not need a land rover.

Did you know that Land Rovers use exactly the same engines as many cars.

Many 4x4's are "greener" than some of the older run of the mill saloons.

Live and let live I say.
