Managed to smash our over sized (empty) whisky bottle (holds pennies and got when hubby worked as a temp at the bottling plant) by dropping a heavy glass tea light holder on it

My fishtank syphon was not working properly and I could see something in the non-return valve bit so I poked it with a chopstick and a little arm & hand from some small toy or somesuch came out. It must have been in the substrate. Syphon working fine now.
