I'm a LiDL salami eater. A ~600gr German-style salami for £4. Perfectly acceptable quality and far cheaper than anything else I've seen in the UK. That said, I've never had Morrisons salami.

I remember having a special affection for the thruppenny bit. It was solid and would roll with a satisfying brrrring sound. Mind, the new £ coin is probably only worth what thruppence was back in the day, etc.

I remember all of the money being heavy in your pocket. We used to have 3d to spend in the newsagents on sunday affer mass. We always went for quantity rather than quality.

£1 notes are practically collector's pieces now anyway, hardly anyone still uses them regularly (they are issued by RBS anyway).
