I just wrote a desktop background randomiser in C++. It reads a list of image paths from a text file, and every x minutes, randomly picks one and sets it to be the desktop background. Windows 7 has this, but it's not random: it just appears to cycle through the list of images in the same order every time. Microsoft wouldn't know 'random' if it goosed them!
