There were quite a few helicopters, but they did manage to put on a varied selection of fixed wing aeroplanes as well. The massed simulated attack with a Hawk, Apache, Wildcat/Lynx, and a number of Merlin helicopters was impressive.

The plane photos are very nice but we need Kitten Photos.
Found out my wrist has been broken for nearly a month (A & E missed it the first time).

I have to see wrist surgeon on Wednesday and the worst case is I might have to get it rebroken.

So no cycling for a while.
Ouch.

Good to see the weather in Normandy for the TDF is as crap as it is in Denmark. Italy is looking good for a holiday then. :0)
I watched the highlights at 7pm after spending the day at the beach - it was cloudy to begin with but we were soon toasting under a hot sun and bright blue skies. You cannot how imagine how smug I felt when the coverage started. Mind you, @Hill Wimp's photos from her morning ride have put me back in my place - drizzle this morning.

We had a bit of a car crash on the M3 on the way back from my mum's.

Driver two cars in front slammed on his brakes and the car in front of me went into the back of him. I braked and I'm not sure whether I actually hit her or she bounced back and hit me. Damage to her car's rear was minimal - although the damage to the front of her car was heavier - and the first car's rear was very mashed.

My car has minor scratches and a crack in the trim - the worst part was the Pedestrian Protection System (which is a bonnet pop up system which is designed to provide additional protection to pedestrians who might be hit) was deployed. The 'bang' of the explosive bolts going off was louder than the noise of the two cars making contact.

It meant I had to drive a 100 miles home with a hood that is raised. The car is designed to be driven like that. But it has to go to a main dealer to have the system reset and that costs something around £1k.

I'm going to have to speak to the insurers in the morning (their claims team doesn't work on Sundays)....
Meep, glad it was just the cars that got a bashing. Hope you're not too sore this morning.

I got my new passport on Friday, shall I bring it with me on Saturday?
I think I have a new recruit for the ride, my older brother flown freshly in from Delhi (aborted Himalayan bike trek). He was worried that his current gearing is so low that he reckons that he can only do about 18km on the flat. I assured him that he wouldn't get dropped, while secretly thinking ''Oh goody, a bimble!'' (Besides, I have a print out of the route....)
