I think I have a new recruit for the ride, my older brother flown freshly in from Delhi (aborted Himalayan bike trek). He was worried that his current gearing is so low that he reckons that he can only do about 18km on the flat. I assured him that he wouldn't get dropped, while secretly thinking ''Oh goody, a bimble!'' (Besides, I have a print out of the route....)

I don't fancy my chances over the Atlantic but they would do across La Manche.

You could cross to France, ride the Brompton to Hamburg, and come over to the States from there. I believe Lidl is bringing a bunch of containers over to Virginia for their initial roll-out in the States next year. Hopefuly, they will open a store near me. (My county is 35% German-American)

Yes sauce, how can you possibly have breakfast with out HP sauce? That is like having crumpets without marmite or pancakes without lemon and sugar!
