You are very lucky that your socks last that long...

Socks have been the bane of my life ever since I first had children (long time ago). It hasn't ended as I still have two of them living here. There is this thing under the stairs called 'the sock basket'. I put all matching pairs in to the basket tucked inside each other. Odd ones are chucked in singly. Every so often I sort it out and put singletons into a carrier bag which I then go through, triumphantly finding pairs. Eventually I get a bit gung-ho and pair up any that look a bit similar. Nevertheless, there seem to be tons of single odd socks left. These I store at the back of the linen cupboard in the carrier bag. The process repeats itself a few weeks later. Once I have a large carrier bag of singletons (the odd sock bag), I then go through them to see if there are any further matches. Rarely, I will find a match and have been known to shriek with joy (not really).

Anyway, I have now decided that socks are very cheap (Primark) and should be regarded as disposable - responsibly, of course.

Put your hand in an old sock and do the dusting. Spray it with half water half vinegar for damp dusting. Then throw away or wash as desired.
