Been there, done that. Repeats avoided so far. A razor plane is your friend here.......
I'd have needed to unplane the bit that that I'd planed off. I used a permagrit sanding bar to do the deed - it was a small wing for a Ron Moulton Rascal C/L plane and a razor plane might have caught one or two ribs. I must pay closer attention to the plans - measure twice, check thrice, cut once and all that.


) is to shape the LE along its length with the plane so it looks like a threepenny bit, then go at it (gently) with a flat Permagrit bar to smooth the shape. But you do have to be really careful, as you say, not to catch the ribs! I lay the LE along my building board, but projecting about an inch over the edge, so I can sight along the length from the outer end. I'm shortly to start this:
