My OH has gone for a 7am Dr's apt!

Oh dear is his lurgy getting worse.... I assumed he was improving as he had gone back to work.

I've got a fridge to defrost this morning!

Thankfully he is getting better, it's at the lingering stage now. He's on the 'we won't give you anymore medication until you come in for a review' stage of his 1st year with repeat prescriptions! Learning the hard way!

On you have just reminded me. I have 3 loaves of bread (dark rye and sunflower seed sourdoughs) to take out of the fridge where they have been proofing overnight. Should be able to cook them this afternoon. They would be dark rye, honey and sunflower seed but I ran out of honey last time around so made it with date syrup (which incidentally is very tasty) and we both preferred it, so win win really because it's much cheaper and I have 7 jars of it left over from an Amazon order fiasco)...

I am going to empty the water collection butt down at the shed as it doesn't have a overflow valve on the downpipe and the downpour currently hitting us is now spilling up and out of the guttering on it's roof.

we found a hole drilled into the top with a garden hose out of it works really well as a cheap and cheerful over flow pipe (Warm the garden hose up so that it is softer, it makes it easier to get it into the hole and make a good seal). We daisy-chained that into another water butt which then had a similar hole that was a few cm lower and that overflow went to the drain... (my mother uses the same solution and her overflow goes onto her flower beds).

Thank you @SatNavSaysStraightOn , I don't think there's room where it is for another butt (I am trying very hard here not to use the word 'but' straight after the word 'butt' so this bracketed explanation of the fact will hopefully distract everyone enough) but (he he) I have some spare hose so when this rain abates I'll do that.
