A teacher I know once said to me, "schools in special measures seem to get lots of money thrown at them."Four teachers working on a non teaching contract ( educational support for underperforming pupils) and the rest are Higher Teaching and Learning Assistants (HLTA), Teaching and Learning Assistants(TLA), a couple of admin staff, a librarian, an educational enrichment officer, a pastoral manager. All are from the same school.
The seven HTLAs that hang onto a job will be redesignated as cover supervisors, will take on the workload of the departing five HTLAs and have their pay reduced by £4,000 per year. The remaining workloads will be redistributed amongst the remaining workers. In addition, teachers who leave between Christmas and the summer will not necessarily be replaced leading to larger class sizes and a reduced capacity to cope with misbehaving and poorly motivated pupils.
No One from the senior management team has the balls to admit to screwing up so many lives and the school the budget by £700,000.
Like I said earlier. I see it as an early playtime. Only one other departing colleague is in the same happy place as me.
Is that a local decision, as he worked in Salford?
