How terrible you cannot turn a stray awayLast night the 'stray' cat that I have seen a few times got brave and came over to me as I was putting the bins out.
Oh dear, it is actually very friendly and wanted to come into the house, I have been banned from having any more cats.
I am not really sure it is a stray, might belong to a neighbour as I've seen it around for a few weeks. How terrible you cannot turn a stray away![]()
Blue skies here too, though I've only just woke up so haven't been outside yet![]()
I've no idea about geese but I saw 10 or so black geese on Southsea seafront yesterday and they looked very much like the Black Brants I've just seen online. I wonder.....Aren't you going to watch the sequels? Loads of sex and violence in VIII apparently.
Been birdwatching at Topsham in the nice sunshine today, according to a twitcher bloke I 'must have seen the Black Brants goose mixed in with the Brents Geese'. I looked it up on getting home and still have no idea if I did or not.
Apparently there was one in the feeding group of over 100...I've no idea about geese but I saw 10 or so black geese on Southsea seafront yesterday and they looked very much like the Black Brants I've just seen online. I wonder.....
I've bought some partridge breast fillets from Waitrose because they were on special offer.
Ah yes, reading this - http://www.gobirding.eu/Photos/BlackBrant.php - it appears that the two species happily make hybrids just to keep the either/or-nithologists guessing.Apparently there was one in the feeding group of over 100...
When the only real difference between them and the Brent goose is - as far as I can see - what its name is, it was really hard to know which was who was what!
Mrs ID was helpful, she had brought a packet of humbugs.
A Brent![]()
Some Brants.![]()
