I managed a lovely 16 mile ride after school, dry and sunny when I set off into the sunset, home in rainy darkness.
The down side of non squeaky stairs will be we won't hear my son sneaking down for a snack. What's wrong with that ?, he's Type 1 diabetic and will forget to test his blood and input the carbs to his pump, then go high. Teenagers and Type 1 is hard.

Yes, that does sound hard. Was he sensible when you were in hospital or was he sneaking snacks?

Fair weathered, fair minded but easily persuaded.
First flea treatment for the Ginger Ninja and he didn't bat an eyelid until my other cat Sasha has a sniff of him and jumped 10 paces backwards.

Now he suspects his human may not be as nice as he once thought.

Im hoping that him being a boy he will forget all about it by the morning and still want his mummy cuddles

Cat's can smell it as soon as you open it. Our old two used to hate it and you'd be lucky with your life, the younger one wasn't bothered. Just got the young one now though !

No...., he's gong through a typical teenage phase of not bothering being so laid back he's horizontal. We try not to be on his back about it, but the pump has been a god send, but it's so easy. We've had some issues with the pump and handset, but it's been impossible to pin it down to the equipment or him. We found the pump had tried to deliver 5 units of insulin in the middle of the night (could have been deadly) but it didn't, but both the pump and meter said it did.

We had a new pump and handset sent yesterday, so I spent a few hours setting it up, downloading and uploading the data and settings and tweaking it. The new one has been OK, but he's not tested his blood until an hour after lunch again.. useless after lunch as the carbs are in your bloods.

With Type 1, the more you are on top of the blood test the better. He has a needle phobia, but the blood tests and cannula insertion isn't causing him problems. It's just teenage lazyness with a life threatening illness.... and you can't push too hard as it's a rebellious age.

Sounds like you're doing as best as you can!
I had a friend in 6th form college who was diabetic. Most of us took to carrying a Mars bar in our bags because she was always going hypo because she didn't eat properly, drove us mad at the time. Another typical teenager who didn't want to be told what to do.

Another "typical teenager" here whilst at school. Taking anything makes you stand out from the rest, not always good for you.

I've been Mr assembly man tonight, our granddaughter is 3 tomorrow and my Good Lady has brought her a large toy, its made of wood and came flat packed, I've spent a lot of tonight assembling it ready for when she comes to see us tomorrow.
