I am pretty sure that the main objective of last year's tour was to sample plenty of cake and beer just to ensure it was as good as claimed.
We were however very disappointed in the lack of cake establishments in The Netherlands and very surprised given the number of cyclists. Therefore we had to make do with beer. So by the time we hit Belgium we were well into our stride
We did a very thorough job on the beer front. The apple streusel we had was rather good too :okay:

I can't get the two weeks off I wanted to do my French canal trip... so I'm thinking of a week in Belgium. Eurostar fares are still ridiculously cheap in August.
I've just looked for September, they are stupidly cheap. So, how would I get from Brussels to somewhere interesting?

For those that may be interested , here is a picture of my sempervivums. If not, the sod you!

P.s affirmative for Ghent. . Wonderful city.

End of tour. Bikes and luggage packed and on the ferry. Back to Harwich at 7.00am tomorrow. Can't wait to catch up on the news. Has anything happened while we've been away?
There has been a coup, Boris has declared himself President.
Cheese and Onion crisps have been made illegal.
Hendon has been painted entirely in Pink.
Nicola Sturgeon has been unmasked as Mad Doug Biker in drag.

Other than that, nothing.
