Right, now about those South Down rides.....
I have finally found @Salty seadog route from Deal to Dover though i stopped at the coastguard station but got the gist apart from the bit that comes down near the docks. More research needed on that bit.

I would not fancy doing it Dover to Deal between Dover and the Coastguard :surrender: but after that it's downhill all the way to Deal

Now to find as nice a route between Dover and Folkestone and then i may just have my route to Rye sorted.

@User10571 did mention a Kent coastal ride from Rye all the way round to Dartford. Reverse that route and it's mainly downhill, much more appealing.

I was playing the rightmove game this morning and a cottage near St Margaret's caught my eye. Luckily for those in the area, I'm yet to win the lottery.
It's a lovely village but the hills up and down to the beach are sickeningly steep and full of switchbacks. Going across the top is nowhere near as bad as i thought.

I have a 20 mile ride home in the rain tonight (which I knew about and have planned for). But I'd forgotten that I intended changing the saddle on the Raleigh Foldaway 7 spd bike that @Hill Wimp gave me. Even with padded shorts I think it's going to be rather :B)
Nutter:wacko:

Back to the subject of little kids "graduating", a friend just posted a video of her son doing just that from his nursery class. I was rolling my eyes at it all but although he obviously didn't properly understand what was happening, he knew that he had done something well and that everyone was proud of him. In his case, doing well means that he's no longer the terrified kid who expressed himself through violence.

Most of the comments were pretty lighthearted about the whole thing but his mum then wrote that "he's going to meet his new class in a minute. They have an hour of story time to ease them in to meeting their new classmates and teachers." I'm now wondering if the whole point of these ceremonies is to help the kids in the transition.

I'm not saying it's necessary in all cases but I went to several different schools as a kid and I can really see the benefit of this for a child who is shy and lacking in confidence.

Seeing as I am still under the influence of severe man flu, and have nothing better to do I thought I'd have a look at this cycling race malarkey that is going on.
My God it's tedious, how do people watch this day after day?

There is almost a 50/50 split of actual cycling to adverts, roll on good health again when I can actually do something else instead
