I believe that's the other way around. People who had chicken pox when younger are generally inocuclated so they don't get shingles later.I had a look on the NHS website yesterday and they seem pretty sure that you can catch chickenpox from shingles but not shingles from chickenpox. I've no idea whether you can catch rickets from a rickety fence though.

You have a lot higher chance of getting shingles if you had chickenpox before you were 18 months old.
