I said that when I had to have Max my Cairn Terrier put to sleep in 2007. I managed 4yrs then moved because I hated the house without him and felt getting another dog was a betrayal of our friendship. I stayed in the next house for 2 years and hated that one then moved back home to the beach where I lasted 4 months. The rest is history but having an animal puts a soul into your house and makes it a home as far as I'm concerned but then I am daft as far as animals are concerned.

I truly feel your pain @potsy. I'm frantic if mine do something out of character.

With the able help of the Sunday London riders, I have now managed to get on a Boris Bike. I felt ever so high up on it and after a while of trying to twist the handlebar grip to change gear managed to find the bit that actually changes the gear. I think they set off for the Olympic Park, with a couple heading downstream, while I pootled around on the riverside.

Are you going to paint a face on it and is there room for the dogs to ride on it?

It does not have a front, per se. Just a steering column, as the engine is in the rear. Ariens, especially the old, heavy steel ones, are quite minimalist. Looks like a frame with wheels, seat, and steering wheel

I had a toy one of those, it was very nice. That Isetta had to have been one of the most original cars I've ever seen.

You could probably just about fit a ride on mower on my lawn. Wouldn't get it through the gate tho'.

I had to settle for a riding mower. I actually wanted a garden tractor, but my gates on my yard are 36", and this is 32", so I'll have to bungee up the grass chute when I go through the gate, I suppose.

My dad had one of them. It eventually turned into a spontaneous combustion engine somewhere on the M1. Round near where my folks lived there was a Messerschmitt that looked like this one - that always struck me as being modelled more on planes than cars:

Thanks all, been 5 or 6 days now I think so little chance of her returning, 21 was a good age.

Correct We were on holiday in Switzerland in 1976 hence why I can date it! (I was a teen anger the next time I was back!) Most likely to be at the Geneva/Vevey end as that is where Dad had work connections. That photo was exposed to the sun for a long number of years, hence the colour of it!

Postman 1-0 Ants.Earlier this week,my wife who was up at 05-30 getting ready for work.Spotted ants in our kitchen near the back door.So i removed the plinth and looked under the units.Apart from builders rubbish from when it was installed.i could not see anything.Why do builders leave crap under units or even under floorboards.It's not hard to sweep up.Anyway i have just dusted the area with Ant powder again.nothing to see.The wife tells me they will be asleep due to the heat.!!!!!Anyway i seem to have scared the little sods off.
