It's national rum day. I know someone who would have been celebrating, had he still been with us.
I rode out to the Anderton Boat Lift again yesterday and I saw a few boats on the canal with 'Lord Vernon's Wharf' on the side. I had to look it up when I got home. It might have to be a ride destination one day.

It looks like the annual games have started, my car insurance renewal notice has dropped on the mat, they want to hike it from £34 a month to £52 a month. A quick look round has brought up a best quote of £34 a month rising to £40 a month if I have the optional breakdown and legal cover. I guess I will be trawling the internet later.
Good luck with that!

You're lucky. I'm doing the company van and liability and contractors blah blah insurances this week, and another vehicle one to do in a few weeks time. Meh.

Meeting with HR and line manager today.

Blah blah how are you doing. Yadda Yadda your job is full time and if you are finding five days a week hard and it means you are in bed in the evenings, then you are out on your ear (reading between the lines).

My line manager is ok but we have some barstewards above him.

Might need some legal advice about disability discrimination. Bloody worked hard to get back to work. I have 5 months half pay sick holiday I could take. Grrrrr
Get the relevant company policies and if you can, the advice for managers documents / toolkits. ACAS is a great suggestion, if you are in a union make use of their legal advice line along with your local rep and if you work in a public sector role then PSED (public sector equality duty) is a good document to be into. If your organisation has signed up to ISO or other accreditation standards then check the procedure manual for how absence & reintegration should be handled to be sure they have been and continue to be compliant there will be a complaint / non conformance procedure if you are being treated out of scope or bullied over illness

I'm trying to re-establish routine around here,
after lawnmower,
and car,
and dog with skunk problems.
I also go the doctor today, probably lightly skunk scented.
Normal has a problem with this, as does Bloomington,
because animal control takes a view that skunks are part of nature.
We'l see about that policy if any cougars show up.
Calgary, Alberta has the same problem.
Create the ideal habitat through city policy,
then tell people it's a part of nature.
