Cake or ice cream? The choice is endless ...

I could retire but do two days a week to give me a kind if structure around the week. I treat as a bit of social life (there's some lovely people where I 'work') ruined by them making me drive a truck around the area.
If I do many more days I lose a lot of it in tax so it's not worth it.

Just travelled back to Freiburg from Stuttgart. This is complicated by 2 factors:

1: The current, massive programme of rebuilding going on to get the network up to speed, meaning there are lots of replacement bus services.

2: The existence of the Black Forest.

Still, it was a very pretty, if rather slow two hours riding on the train through the hills...

A mild, grey and drizzly day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well, and lady issues are now subsiding. Spent the morning in the company of a good friend and her dogs walking on some local trails. Some of them are still a bit squelchy in places, but are now passable. We haven't done this particular walk since the autumn as a result of all of this rain.

Local news says that according to Anglia Water, there won't be a hosepipe ban in the summer after the wettest 18 months on record.

Said friend has also agreed to re-home some of the salamis and chorizos I bought on Monday.

Anyways, it is time for luncheon and someone wants their chicken.

treated myself to a clam roll & beer yesterday
