Good morning from Suffolk where there's a bit of sunshine. a bit of cloud and a chilly northerly breeze thrown into the mix. Coffee has been had which required the opening of a fresh pack of filter papers - I'll need to order some more soon as this was the last pack in my stock.

I had a 32C high temperature, followed by a thunderstorm that brought 1" hail, 50 mph winds, and a half-inch of rain, all in about 20 minutes.

Looks like I may get a couple of bob back from a personal accident insurance thing I took out 30 years ago. It's only like £4.50 a month, but I remembered I had it after I broke my spine, and I got a payout for the 40 plus nights in hospital - so much per night, which just about recouped the 20 years premium at the time. Roll on now and I think I'll get about £400, which just about covers the last 10 years payments !

I can't recommend breaking your pelvis, it's certainly not worth £400.

Popped to the tip earlier. As usual the barriers went down as soon as the staff spotted me approaching in the van.

'Got seats in it ?', they said.

'Yes', I replied, 'this van identifies as a car'.

Chuckle.

New f plug fitted to the satellite lead pre WAH and the Foxsat happidly reported 100% on both tuners.
Work email turned up saying I do not need to go to Leeds next Tuesday ^_^
Later on saw a DHL van backing towards my drive, two packages from HP. Opened at lunchtime, one was the required rubber strip the other two square black pieces, one large the other small one side of each tacky
Post WAH chopped the big one into three and put them on the bottom of a chairs legs. EDIT and then in the bin as they did not stay stuck.

It's been a cool, grey and breezy day here chez Casa Reynard, but it's brightened up in the last hour or so.

Slept well. Spent the morning doing some chores (sorting out yesterday evening's shopping) and some gardening. That involved setting up the hanging baskets I picked up on Wednesday, and putting my herbs in them. Alas the sage plant is too big to fit - I hadn't realised just how big it had gotten! But my mint, oregano, thyme, basil and one pot of parsley all have a new home.

Had a lovely luncheon of the last of the rye bread, the last of the smoked mackerel, some Caprices des Dieux cheese, fruit and a :cuppa:

This afternoon was spent doing things like straining the gammon stock, ironing my white coat and sorting stuff out for tomorrow, and popping round to a friend's place with her share of the gammon, her share of the YS cheese I picked up yesterday and her share of the stock. I also helped her clip one of her cats' claws.

Now sat down with a :cuppa: and watching the evening news.
