Happy chap. Did 42 miles on the Colnago CX bike, 24 were proper off road (canal and gravel). Did it on just water,

You can ride your bike on water  Are you Jesus?

Spent the morning doing some gardening type stuff for my mum.

Managed a nice 35 miles in the afternoon sun, and it was ridiculously hot. I'm sure I look really trendy riding around in my floppy sun hat !🤠 I keep getting a clunk when I apply the front brake on my Townsend. No obvious play in the headset when I apply the brake and rock it back and forward, but I must investigate further. It bugs me. I wonder is there play in the canti brake arms. Or a cracked stem or something

Time for Sunday evening live music but there's basically nobody here. People must have gone to the beach.

It's been largely a bright and sunny day here chez Casa Reynard.

Sleep was OK-ish albeit a bit restless. Have not done very much today at all, especially not after sleeping in till well gone midday. Did some laundry, listened to the F1 on the radio, listened to Arsenal v Newcastle and I've just popped a bread-and-butter pudding (with marmalade) into the oven to use up the last pack of HCB from the Tesco ISB. I still have two packs of the "Finest" ones left.

Will still catch up with the two Formula E races from Tokyo later.

Had a lovely day at the cat show yesterday. My friend and I were wondering about the number of posh cars we saw on the way to the show hall at the agricultural college in Moulton - we saw three assorted Ferraris, a McLaren a bright yellow Porsche Cayman and a couple of others that escape me. Of course, Moulton is just up the road from Sywell...

I handled some lovely cats for my judge, but we had a few really mardy ones as well - one of which I know very well, what with her having walloped me on two separate occasions. Said Madam ended up shredding my judge. I advised him not to bother after she went for me yesterday (but fortunately missed) when I tried to get her out of the pen. But he was adamant he was going to try. And he paid the price, because she got him good and proper.

The cat was in a double pen - usually she's in a single - and unfortunately it just gave her more room to lash out. Her owner has been advised on many occasions not to show her, and yet she persists. Although we think the woman has finally got the message yesterday after the Show Manager withdrew the cat from judging.

Anyways, the pudding is in the oven, and I've just sat down with a :cuppa:

Just seen the dash cam video from our car. The dodgy car was parked right outside the main entrance of a huge Tesco where there is no parking. From my vision, there is an assault rifle pointed out of the car. Five mins later an unmarked police Volvo v70 circles the car park slowly. Suspects leave, followed by the Volvo and my son. As soon as they reached the junction, a marked Police SUV shoots across and blocks it with the unmarked behind. Police SUV jump out with guns, behind officers with tasers. The guy has some massive gold MrT chain on. Apparently the driver has been charged.

My wife is now worried... FFS

Bloody obvious from a basic dash cam. Very clear video.

Be nice at Mallory today, I used to go a lot mainly to Clubmans bike meets. Fave spots were the apex of 'The Elbow' (pre 'bus stop' chicane) or on the way into the Esses you could see 3/4 of the track (with bins) Quite a few people there but nothing like the big meetings like the 'post TT', the 'Transatlantic Trophy', the 'Race of the Year' (biggest cash prize in the world at the time) and the 'British Superbikes'..............be heaving then.
On a day like today (quiet little clubbie meeting with few people) the top of the banking by the speaker pole at Devil's Elbow is the best place to spectate from - if you can ignore the morning's cold northerly breeze straight down your neck at times.

First cuppa went down well.
The lanes around Sywell aerodrome are buzzing with lots of cars heading towards supercar fest at the aerodrome

That may explain why, approaching Cambridge on the way home this evening, I was overtaken by a Porsche 918 (as per below) which may have been returning from the display
