A study of the shoe cupboard revealed that in the clear out of footwear past its best must have been my sole pair of sandals. Google threw up various offers including some currently at Lidl. Did not recall seeing any yesterday but then I wasn't particularly looking for any.
Ebike thence back to Lidl where i found they had not got any. They did have flavoured tuna back in so not entirely a wasted visit and no alarm ringing today. On a cooler less windy day I might have continued to the one at Knaresborough but decided against that and returned home for two glasses of ice cold squash, a magnun and a jam tart.

I just passed a man walking up the Old Kent Road with a ferret on his shoulder. He looked a little overdressed with a jacket but I guess it stops the claws getting through to flesh. It distracted me so much I forgot to take a photo of the ''NOT JUST ANY OLD ROAD'' painted on the railway bridge between Queens Road and Rotherhithe stations.

My neighbour just texted me to offer me some bread pudding. Apparently she cooked it in - yes, she has one - an air fryer.

That was my afternoon stroll.

Just digesting the news that the Dolphin has been renamed. Seems a shame.

What's it called now? The David Attenborough aquatic mammal?

A hot and sunny day here chez Casa Reynard, albeit with a nice breeze.

Didn't have the best of night's sleep as my back was owie. The heat isn't helping either. Had a choresy morning, the main highlight of which was making a batch of strawberry jam.

But it wasn't just *any* strawberry jam, this was made from the strawberries picked from the garden - mainly alpine strawberries. Oh my, it's lovely! I have a jar of strawberry jam currently open, and I do make a mean strawberry jam, but this is on another planet! :hungry:

Had a lovely luncheon of wholegrain seeded baguette, hummus, Langres cheese, fruit and a :cuppa:

Treated myself to a bit of sit down time in the garden with a nice book, and then potted on two more of my tomato plants. Only one left to do, now. Also watered everything, as the need was great. Then did some more on the 893 drawing, where I finally finished the engine cowling and the rear wing.

Now sat down with a nice :cuppa:

This mornings Asda visit was partly to check on ice cream prices with the intent of returning this evening by car to purchase, getting the stuff home ASAP being a key objective.
First however decided to go to Lidl at Knaresborough, the light evening traffic making for a quick journey. Bingo, not only did they have the sandals in stock but the very first pair I picked up were my size. For a penny under a tenner they seem decent enough.
A quick return west, for once no dose in either direction at Starbeck level crossing. Kelly's Honeycomb ice cream and a 6 pack of full size Magnums acquired.
