Back where I started in Campbeltown. I had been going to try the west coast of Kintyre this time but the weather was horrible when I got of the ferry in Clonaig, so I decided to take the shorter, quieter but much hillier route down the east coast again. It cleared into a nice evening, but very windy. The last few miles after the road levelled out should have been easy but we're very tough due to headwind. Probably a good job I didn't take the more exposed west coast.

A car full of Americans gave me a round of applause as I crested the 16% climb out of Saddell. :wahhey: I was too out of breath to speak to them!

I'm just sitting people watching now on the sea front. Good to see Campbeltown drivers are just as skilled at texting whilst driving as the ones back home!

I must go and check in, get cleaned up and go in search of food.

Rolling total now 438 miles.

My working day is completed now the grandparenting duties kick in

It's been a warm, sticky, blustery and mostly overcast day here chez Casa Reynard.

Sleep was middling. Had to do a photoshoot for the Siamese Cat Welfare Trust this morning, and then went for a walk with a friend and her dogs in the shadiest spots we could think of.

Skipped luncheon as I wasn't terribly hungry, but I've just had some buttered toast not that long ago.

Have spent the afternoon making the pattern and getting started on the prototype for a Collar of Shame. I have some upholstery vinyl that will make for a nice wipe dry one, as I'm a bit tired of having a cold, wet, gravy-smeared collar shoved in my face first thing in the mornings LOL!

I used to enjoy listening to people selling things in street markets. Not often heard these days.

Indeed. Street markets seem to have declined for the most part.

My last visit to a Shoreditch market that I frequented a lot with the parentals whilst growing up left me rather disappointed. It used to be a bustling, thriving market with lots of stalls, plus a Woollies, a big Co-op and a massive second-hand yard that sold all sorts of stuff. And traders yelling all sorts of stuff in cockney accents.

Small, medium, large and extra large!

He's my granddaughters and we look after him when we look after her.

Oh yes they like to chew cables all accessible ones are Kevlar wrapped.

He gets on well with the house dog as well

There's a spray for that. Needed it in Germany and Belgium. Local pests would eat the HT cables in the vans and cars.
Was in Aldi this winter. Anti Marmot or similar. Try EuroCar or whatever.

Same with Sunday markets, often on former airfields. Used to be well worth the visit for bargains galore and plenty of sales pitch / banter from the touts. ^_^
However, most have either died a death or become car boot sales.
From what I can infer, it's the growth of the bargain stores; QD, Poundland, B & M, Home Bargains, etc., etc. that have caused said downfall.
Why travel to a Sunday market out in the sticks when you can get it all at pretty much the same prices either in town or at the nearest retail park - ?

I have had a day with the fairies. I hoped that I could sleep them off but I couldn't really sleep this morning but the rest should have helped but it hasn't. It came on after doing the washing up. There is a ride planned for tomorrow but how I was this morning I would have fallen off.
Outwardly there doesn't seem to be much wrong with me. When it gets worse I may frown and look strange. I find that I have to concentrate hard, I find that my capacity to understand what is going on becomes difficult. I usually have to get my wife to interpret how I am. If I raise my hand to scratch my head my hand will blanch. This is a usual sign that I am having a day with the fairies. These attacks can suddenly disappear as quickly as they appear. I am hoping that the fairies will disappear overnight.
