Cat has been fed (Felix AGAIL with cod, and half a sausage), and soon it will be time to feed me. Oven is on, and pans are bubbling away in the kitchen.

I’m not sure this is mundane news but I can’t think where else it should go. Myself and Mrs W are watching an old episode of the Brokenwood mysterys where a wine maker get murdered by being drowned in vat of wine. Mrs W said the murderer was making a right meal of murdering victim.
Remind me never argue with Mrs W while on a tour of winery.

You could always try and save yourself by drinking as much as possible.

Legend has it that George Duke Of Clarence was drowned in a barrel of Malmsey wine for treason to his brother King Edward the 1V. Now held to be untrue but was popularised by Shakespeare in his scurrilous and untrue play Richard 111 which was a piece of propaganda meant to discredit Richard* and probably not even written by old Shakey.

* Now re-interred in Leicester Cathedral

Legend also said it was at his request.

Yep but I was trying to keep the post as brief as possible. I could write pages on the subject as Maz is a member of the 'Riccardian' society and followed Richards discovery with great interest. Seems the Victorians were as complicit in discrediting him as the grave in the grounds of the Abbey/Monastary was well known before the Hanovarians assumed the throne of Britain until it was destroyed and built over.

It was extremely wet at times today. An umbrella was called into service for my morning perambulation.

Another highly mundane day at work. The software that tracks everything we do or don't do on the computer will be retired shortly as they will be rolling out a new system soon. Such exciting news that they've probably found better ways to keep tabs on us and micromanage us.

Conveniently, it stopped raining around six so I was able to get out for a twenty mile ride.

Persisting it down here in Suffolk as well.

Found enough dark washing to make a load and stuck that in the machine while I went out on the bike to get the shopping. Very hard work into the wind but hardly needed to pedal along the seafront road with the tail wind. Home and shopping put away, washing on the line to dry (which took less than an hour), vacuum cleaner taken for a walk round the house, lunch, coffee and then the kitchen floor steam mopped.
I'd just sat down for a few minutes with the Tour of Britain and was thinking of going out for a walk when the heavens opened.
Just over an hour after this I was setting off for a walk in blazing sunshine and warmth (plus a 20mph southerly breeze) with puddles and a slimy top surface on some paths the only evidence of the downpour. Four miles done.

Another evening of doing very little except for renewing my postal vote online (apparently this now has to be done every three years rather than being an indefinite option) and catching up with the Tour of Britain on more familiar roads.
