The Coastal Path goes most of the way around the towns; Birchington, Margate, Broadstairs & Ramsgate.
It's a lovely bimble ( @Oldhippy is the resident expert on the route 👍)

I've done the bit from Ramsgate to Margate previously

Might try the entire circuit and extract from Ramsgate. But longer and sunny days might help
But, the absence of touroids makes this time of year attractive.

There's something very appealing about the look of the Speed 5 model you've just got (especially the colour), even though it's completely at odds with my riding preferences. Just had a look on Ebay and thankfully there's none available*, but a 3 speed Guv'nor auction finishes on Saturday afternoon and is just up the train line in Norwich!
Must stay away from the internet and remind myself I have absolutely no spare space for it.

*Edit - at a reasonable price

It's certainly nice to ride IMO. Depends on what you expect from your bike. You won't win a time trial but I'm a non-competitive cyclist.

The big 28 X1 1/2" roadster-sized wheels are great for rural roads as they roll so well over surface irregularities. This is something I've often noticed on my 1951 Rudge and why I enjoy riding my Rudge. But the Rudge has rod brakes and intent to stop on a wet day needs to be sent by registered post, it's heavy and has the aerodynamics of the Taj Mahal. The Guvnor has the same easy rolling nature but is so much more responsive.

I would actually have preferred a three speed but I took what was available locally. The five speed is known to be much more temperamental and difficult to keep in adjustment. The three speed is bombproof.

I bit the bullet last night and ordered a set of the genuine mudguards. A bit spendy but the should bolt straight on. I came back yesterday covered in mud and probably cow shoot. A bike without mudguards just isn't practical for my routes.

Sunny morning if chilly. Washing hung out then car to Lidl, hospital pharmacy, Sainsbury's and Waitrose.
Highlight was yellow label fish in Waitrose that the £1 app voucher worked on as well.
Lowlights in particular were Audis, one was parked too far forward in a centre of road chevron parking space that it was a tight squeeze pass while anothers driver had two passers by directing them how to reverse out of parking space

Oops, missed it. Happy birthday weekend!

I have reached the age when Birddays are not a cause for silly brations, I have a coffee and walnut cake to enjoy this weekend.

In other news, I was in contact recently with someone who thinks they now have covid. Fingers and pawsies are crossed that I do not contract it.

For a day when I'd got nothing planned, quite a lot has been done - away day travel snack shopping, overnight bag sorting, front, back & side lawns have been cut and (thanks to a free electricity session) a load of towels have been given a very hot wash - as have I with the shower turned up to as warm as I could stand.

Just for fun I recorded the grass cutting on my Garmin - 0.8 miles covered and just under 700 steps. What it didn't record were the two and a half black sacks of grass and leaf clippings that need to be disposed of.
