Usual Friday half day at work. The most excitement I got up to was to have my 'flu and COVID jabs Boots. Work will pay for the 'flu one and I discovered I could have the COVID one FOC anyway, so I got both so I can have two sore arms! Feel very tired now.

So many stupid fireworks being set off outside that I had to turn up the radio. :gun:

Pleased to report all milks safely made the fridge tonight. A Sainsbury's personal offer at 90p per 2 points used three times. Seems you have to be careful with them

It's been a mild and breezy day here chez Casa Reynard, with a mix of sunshine and some pretty biblical-grade showers.

Slept well. Had another kitchen morning - seem to have had a lot of those this week. Anyways, I roasted and then peeled the other half of the pumpkin that I cut open the other day. That's now in the fridge, and I will make a pumpkin wellington next week. Don't worry, the mushrooms for that came from Aldi!

Also made a batch of pesto from the basil I bought in Aldi last week. I added the last of the pecorino cheese, a small bunch of parsley, a garlic clove, salt, pepper, some foraged walnuts and a good glug of olive oil. Result is far nicer than anything one can buy. I have some leftover mashed potato from last night, so I suspect that pesto gnocchi will be on the agenda.

Lovely luncheon of a cream cheese sandwich, an apple, some grapes and a :cuppa:

Watered all the house plants. The main task this afternoon was erranding in town. B&M doesn't stock curtain wire, so will have to look elsewhere. But I did buy a farting sprout dog toy for a friend's Schnauzers. OMG, she's going to kill me a lot, given how much they love their oinking pig... Never mind, it's worth it, just for the wind up LOL! Waitrose drew a blank, as they were out of stock on their own-brand leaf tea.

Thence to Tesco to do the first full shop I've done in a little while. Everything on the list was acquired, though I had to think sideways a couple of times as they didn't have the exact item I normally buy in stock. That said, it was a productive evening in terms of reductions for a change, and I got a nice chunk of what I wanted actually on sticker.

Came home with "Finest" dry-cure streaky bacon, a packet of smoked ham, green beans, mangetout, four dented tins of coconut milk, three breads (two bakery, one a Hovis 50-50 sliced loaf), a box with two banoffee tarts and three dozen free range eggs. I'll be sharing the eggs with a friend, though.

Saw plenty of ankle biters out tricking and treating in town this evening. There was one group dressed up as dinosaurs, and another were all dressed up as Star Wars characters - including a very convincing Darth Maul!

Soup and the last of the pasta bake was had for supper, and now I can sit back and chill.
