Good morning from an overcast and very soggy underfoot Suffolk with the good news is that there's no wetness falling from above and the radar is clear for this area. Coffee has been had.

I remembered earlier this morning that it's the final race day of the year at Brands Hatch and I seriously considered driving down, but listening to the circuit commentary on line at the moment I'm glad I didn't - the second qualifying session has just been red flagged due to fog! Instead breakfast will be had followed by a bit of faffing around and then a couple of hours out on a bike.

You know if you go out on the bike it'll chuck it down, again.

Time for a deep clean in the lounge (drawing room) before Christmas.

This means moving the furniture. A recommendation:

If you have any heavy items to move, these are amazing! One hand to push a heavy sofa around

Constant drizzle.
Yodel turned up with a flattish box at lunchtime, yes the kitchen worktop unit. 6 pieces of wood duly screwed together along with two plastic shelves and 4 felt pads to act as feet.
Googling for a open storage box to put on top of one of the kitchen cupboards lead to me to Gerorge at Asda
That transpired to be far too small but perfect to resolve a storage issue in the spare room. 3 duly ordered to collect on Monday and 50% off.
Mains socket with usb chargers collected from Screwfix and then to The Range where I found a box suitable for the top of the kitchen cupboard.
Sainsbury's visited, latest milk offer is not that great @ £1.02 so just one bought. The self scanner locked up, resolved by an assistant scanning my Nectar card with another which filpped the basket onto it. Used up £5 worth of Nectar points.

Evening cuppa went down well as did the carvery we treated ourselves to.

Well impressed with B&M in numpton as we had 7 items in our basket and the most expensive one didn't register when it was scanned by the cashier so we got that foc

It's been a grey and damp day here chez Casa Reynard, with intermittent outbreaks of drizzle.

Slept well and slept in, but I still feel so very tired and under-the-weather. Only did the bare minimum of chores, and just had some quiet time. House is noticeably warmer since I've done those window repairs.

Lovely luncheon of a gammon sandwich, a pear and a :cuppa:

A largely quiet afternoon watching the horse racing. Then off to Tesco for the groceries. Not much to be had on sticker, but did pick up a small pack of cooked chicken pieces, a kilo of porridge oats, one dented tin of baked beans, two loaves of bread and a pack with four pains au chocolat. Two little truckles of Christmas cheese jumped into my trolley - a double Gloucester with chives and a Wensleydale with apricots.

Brie & cranberry toastie, a min spy and a :cuppa: for supper.

Now having a quiet evening watching the snooker.

Madam Ruby...

Yes, she's a roughly four year old non-pedigree tortie. She was abandoned in a locked, empty house without food or water after her previous owners were evicted, and then passed between several rescues for various reasons before ending up at Ely CP.

Not my photo, this one came from her fosterer. Madam is still hiding (she's upstairs somewhere right now), but mum said she was exploring a bit while I was out shopping. She's eating well, knows where the water bowl is, and has used the tray. We're getting there.

No rain as such, but slowly increasing levels of that very fine misty drizzle that you don't really notice until the point you realise that your jacket & leggings are quite wet. It was also very dark in the early afternoon to the extent of needing the 'to be seen with' lights I'd fitted as a last minute thing. Still it was good to get out and get two and a half hours under my wheels.

I'm wondering if I've picked up a bug at some point over the past week as I've got a very runny nose while also being bunged up at the same time and have a bit of a sore throat. Given the number of busy trains, venues & pubs I've been on/in it wouldn't be a surprise.

Hot chocolate time, possibly with a preventative aspirin.
