Our outside chairs are nice and dry inside the garage for winter,too soft i am i tell you.When i were a kid we ad to scrape ice off the insides of our bedroom window,metal frames and then stand on lino floors,carpets carpets tough we wer.

One thing that always 'gets' me is people saying 'Lino' is cold, Linoleum is actually quite warm underfoot whereas Vinyl flooring (often wrongly referred to as 'Lino') isn't. If it has a pattern on it then it ain't Linoleum, there are 2 versions of true Lino one is plain single colour the other is 'marbled' and known in the trade as Marmoleum.
Main difference is cost, Linoleum/Marmoleum is expensive*, Vinyl flooring is a quarter of the price but then there is also wear resistance Linoleum is guaranteed for 30 years but you'll be lucky to get 5 years out of Vinyl flooring before visible wear is present.

* Last lot I bought for our bathroom and loo floor was £30 a sq metre but after 15 years still looks as good as when it was laid.

Sons 51 st birthday tea, no ‘1’ for the ‘51’ cake candles so I have carved one from a candle. Brownie points incoming.

Turned out the online shop came early, only one thing was not available and on unpacking turned out to be one busted yogurt. Refund sorted and yogurt emptied into an empty pot, will have it tomorrow.

Heavy rain for most of the afternoon means indoors was the correct decision.

Other than one trip to the loo and one to the kitchen for another drink, I didn't move from the sofa all afternoon - not because the TV/radio action was riveting, but simple bone idleness. Bike cleaning could have been done, but the ebike was taking up the space while being charged.
The rest of the evening will be spent in a similar manner once I've made a hot chocolate.

An advantage of having a picture rail about 10cm from the ceiling in the living room is that on a day like this I can put wet washing onto clothes hangars and hang them from the picture rail above the radiator to dry them.

I am talking 1950 1960 council house and poor as church mice,i kid you not for extra warmth on the bed,old overcoats were chucked on.
