Just 1.5 hours riding today. The roads are damp, trees dripping and damp in air, but not misty or raining.

My bike is cold, damp and neglected in the garage. Nearly 10 days, no biking.
Totally stuffed by the calendar. It'll be next week before I get out.

A mild and grey day here chez Casa Reynard, dry but with a decidedly damp feel to it.

Did not have the best of nights sleep. Kept waking up due to the dressing on my leg itching like blazes. It seems to have subsided now. But as a result I overslept, so started the day an hour and a half later than intended, which means I've been playing catch up for the most part.

Chores were whizzed through, and any thought of luncheon was abandoned, and half past one saw me in Tesco to go sniffing for yellow stickers. That was only partially successful, as there was barely anything in the chilled and fruit & veg, and only booze in the green bins. There were load of boxes waiting to go out to charity last night, so I suspect that's where the bulk of today's stuff went. Annoying from my perspective, as the Sunday before Christmas is usually pretty productive, but as long as it doesn't go to waste, I can live with that.

That said, there was loads from the ISB, so I came home with a good supply of patries, doughnuts, Min Spies, bread and crusty rolls. I also had a slight snaccident with some crisps and cheese. And I took more advantage of the 15p veg and the cheap clementines, so I'm all stocked up on that front.

Also picked up a supply of dressings from the pharmacy aisle in Tesco, so that I can do my leg over the hols. I'm supposed to make an appointment to be seen at my GP surgery between Christmas & New Year, but that's going to be almost impossible given the reduced opening hours. And I'm not going to traipse all the way to Soham again just to get a dressing replaced. From what I saw yesterday, those stitches won't be ready to come out till New Year anyways, so I may as well employ the DIY approach in the interim. And with mum being a retired district nurse, I have a good in-house back-up.

Had a late luncheon of two slices of toast with marmite, a Min Spy and a :cuppa:

Now sat by the fire listening to the football on the radio.

A fabby supper of cauliflower soup, followed by baked salmon (cold, cooked previous evening), and bubble & squeak, also constructed from the potatoes and greens cooked the previous evening.

Another set of leftovers removed from the fridge.

I seem to be sleeping quite well at the moment - as well as the extra hour this morning, another half hour nap was had late this afternoon as well. Woke up to see a few rain drops on the window, but nothing much more than that.

It's probably about time I got off my backside and made the evening's hot chocolate.
