It's been a mild day with occasional sunshine here chez Casa Reynard.
Slept well enough. Woke up a bit early, but got up, not wanting to repeat yesterday's oversleeping on account of having a lot to do. Leg continuing to improve - I can now move around without any "pulling" sensations on the muscles etc.
The morning started off choresy - grate, litter trays, firewood, that sort of thing. Also squared away most of the weekend's non-fridgeable shopping (fruit & veg are OK in unheated utility room). Then the first kitchen task of the day - making my smoked salmon pate.
A quick luncheon of crusty bloomer, the smoked salmon scraps, a couple of clementines and a
Then out erranding. First stop, drop off a friend's share of the 15p veg and Min Spies. A brief catch up was had, as we hadn't seen each other for a fortnight. Next stop, up the road to the garage. Battery in key fob replaced, and a new tyre ordered to replace the one with a slow puncture. I get it fitted next week - current one is fine for local puttering. Then off to Tesco to pick up the items I forgot at the weekend (christmas pressie for some sheep!), which also yielded a large tub of cream and some mangoes on yellow sticker. After that splash-and-dash, final stop of the day was the Quack, so I could make an appointment to get the stitches out of my leg. It's not urgent, so I will be seen in a fortnight. Dressing changes I can do myself.
Back home, and then straight back into the kitchen for the remaining food tasks of the day. One, preparing my festive red cabbage, and two, making my cranberry sauce.
A supper of leftovers - cauliflower soup and mushroom & bacon pasta.
Cabbage is now cooking slowly, but I've yet to cook the sauce. I'm wanting something of a sit down first.
