Young Master P will be 30 tomorrow Senior P will be 76 in Feb.It's all downhill now for him.We have a fabulous relationship.I have been so lucky after being such a failure first time around. So a meal has been booked for a date in January for five of us,sadly father in law does not want to come,he tried Indian food once last year and it's not to his liking he only had grilled chicken and chips, but he still does not want to come.

I did get 20 miles in and only got one shower. At least it's a start for the new year. I didn't do much else today to be honest.

I did my usual route. First time in a few weeks and first time in daylight for a while. I see evidence of about five accidents, including a broken telegraph pole. Obviously the local boyracers aren't as skilled behind the wheel as they think!

It's been a bright, but breezy and very cold (thanks to the wind chill) day here chez Casa Reynard.

Sleep was middling - kept waking up. Eventually gave up and got up early. Spent the morning clearing all the chores (firewood, grate, scoop the poop etc).

Lovely luncheon of the last of the sourdough bread with smoked salmon pate, a nice chunk of Melton Mowbray pork pie, an apple, a banana and a :cuppa:

Made my Lukken (Boter Galetten) this afternoon - a Belgian tradition for New Year.

Had a quiet time after, reading and listening to the football.

Cat has been fed (Felix AGAIL with trout & mackerel), I've had soup, and am about to put the rest of supper in the oven.

Watching the final of World's Strongest Man - a New Year tradition here chez Casa Reynard.
