Floor swept and mopped. As usual this collected enough dust and bits to keep future archaeologists occupied for a month.


If I'm lucky I'll now have a floor clear of dust balls for at least thirty minutes.

Main issue was fitting those bl**dy long German words into the space available. I did it once then my partner pointed out a typo...

It was suggested that the previous logo looked a bit "socialist". The jury is still out on that one, but I'm working on alternatives. Does this one work?

they both looked fine to me, altho the veins in the 1st one were a bit severe. can you make on of the hands female? like with longer fingernails?

long term girlfriend's Mom once said something similar at their summer house, because their cat(s) was a real mouser, & she buried all the rodents in the same spot. paraphrasing: "some day, someone is gonna find all this & really wonder about us"

Evening shopping in Sainsbury's and Asda delayed by a set of faulty temporary lights stuck on red. Purpose of them is to form a pedestrian crossing in place of a currently closed zebra crossing. Did wonder if someone ought to turn them through 90 degrees away from the road.

In a very tranquil and sunny Ravenspoint now. I enjoyed today, but it wasn't easy. A lot of climbing involved on Harris and a headwind from hell meant I had to mostly pedal down the other side too. I read many times that the Hebridan way is pretty flat. I disagree after today!

Sitting relaxing in the common room which I have to myself. The modern version of hostelling seems to be to go and lie in bed and listen to headphones. Whatever happened to talking to each other?

Tomorrow should be a much easier and shorter day, with just 21 miles to Stornoway.

SWMBO won the award in her category, which was a for food waste project within the NHS. She's a Catering Dietitian for 2 days a week on top of her other roles, covering 7 hospitals in an NHS Trust with the aim of improving food provision (meals / snacks / nutrition) for patients, staff and visitors.

At least she'll be happy when I collect her later.

Thanks for your thoughts, and I get the point re female/downward hands, although I doubt many kindergarten teachers would have long fingernails, regardless of gender.

We deliberately used male hands, partly because we are both men, and partly because we are trying to make our seminars welcoming to men, who are severely underrepresented in nearly all areas of social work.

This style of handshake is fairly common in Germany, especially for men in a closer relationship; it's how my business partner and I greet each other when we meet, so we're hoping to (subtly) get these positive ideas across in the logo.

That said, it's still evolving, so I'll pass the feedback on: these comments are helping us go through the development cycles faster which is saving a lot of time.
