It's been a grey but quite warm day here chez Casa Reynard, and we escaped the forecast rain / thunderstorms.

Slept ok, but severely short-changed again. Get-up-and-go is still AWOL somewhere. Downstairs, fed the cat, made a :cuppa: and took it upstairs to do some writing. Most of the writing time was spent editing the rubbish that I seemed to have generated over the weekend. Weird, because it looked OK when wrote it!

Downstairs to do the chores. Then went to the utility room to furkle for supper ingredients in the fridge and freezer. Fish was set to defrost, and the crockpot locked and loaded.

A lovely luncheon of two slices of wholemeal toast, one with luncheon meat, the other with stratford blue cheese, yoghurt with kiwi and raspberries, and a small pot of tea.

Spent the afternoon in the garden doing stuff. My empty green bin is now very full. Everything's been watered. And I was wondering why my walnut sapling isn't doing well - some little bar steward has bitten the top off! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Have been enjoying the football. The Spain v Cape Verde match was epic. Belgium v Egypt somewhat more mundane but still quite absorbing..

Fabby supper of steamed salmon, lemon & pepper wholegrain cous cous, and a whole heap of ratatouille. :hungry:

A quiet evening is planned.

First working day of the week completed. Apparently my boss has been doing interviews for a higher up job. With any luck, she will get it and go out of my way!🙏

My kitchen light switch is knackered. I'll sort it tomorrow. One wonders how my parents house, which built in the 1970s still has all original light switches and sockets, yet I've had to replace several things in here and it's only 5 year old.

I put some shelves up in my shed and started work making drawers for under the bench. I forgot how much I enjoy woodwork.

What did they know about making electrical fittings in 1975 that they don't know now...

According to an article I looked at :

Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s world famous ship and the museum spaces around it will become Bristol Dockyards from July.

SS Great Britain Trust chief executive, Andrew Edwards, said that some people might view the rebranding as “woke” but he added that “change is never easy”.
And remember, it is not the ship that is changing name but its location next to the Floating Harbour. Bristol Dockyards will still be described as “home to the SS Great Britain”.

Blistering Barnacles.. Just leave stuff alone!!

Blistering barnacles! Thank you for the new epithet.

I've just put the bin out as I forgot earlier. Whoops!

Only the food caddy this week, as there's not enough in the blue bin. TBH, I only generate half a mini-caddy (the one that you keep in the kitchen) per week. That's largely just tea bags / tea leaves, fruit & veg peelings, egg shells and the scrapings from Madam Boo's bowl.
