Success, having emailed dad with suggestions on how to hold a mobile when naking a call got a I could understand. Apparently now having physio in the hospital.
E road bike idea is getting more expensive. Realised the one I was looking at only has a lowish power motor and the one with a better motor, and admittedly carbon rather than aluminium, is somewhat higher in price.

It's been a pretty warm, humid and mostly overcast day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well enough, but short changed somewhat. But as it was still very early, I turned over and went back to sleep for a bit. Woke up again at a better hour. Downstairs, feed the cat, make a :cuppa: and take it upstairs to do some writing. Most of what I did today was editing and cross-checking the new and unintended plot bunny for continuity.

The chores were done at a better hour too. Litter tray, water the planters, hang yesterday's laundry outside to dry etc. Post has generated yet more paperwork. The Belgian bureaucrats are now throwing a wobbly because apparently mum didn't inform them that dad passed away in 2008, and the records have her as married rather than widow. :banghead:

So I now need to find dad's paperwork. And feck knows where that is. I have a couple of ideas, but really, do I have to turn the house upside down? That said, I can always order copies from the archives - at expense to me, of course. *sigh*

Aaaaaanyways, I had a lovely luncheon of toast with luncheon meat and stratford blue cheese, a tangerine, yoghurt with strawberries and a pot of tea.

Spent a bit of the afternoon watching some coverage from Royal Ascot. Then at tea time, it was off into town for some groceries. Tesco was tescoed, and I picked up a bag of mixed salad leaves, a small tub of coleslaw and a pack with three sweet peppers on yellow sticker. Also bought another box of the Encore cat food for Madam Boo, as it was still on a clubcard offer. Had to get a mixed selection rather than the fish one, as that's all they had.

The petrol station was really busy, so I gave that a miss - can wait till next week to chuck £20 in. On the upsides, petrol's come down 5p a litre since I last threw £20 in.

Stopped off at Waitrose on the way home to buy one of their small cucumbers. Yes, they work out more expensive than the big ones in Tesco, but I can't finish a large cucumber before it develops language skills. I also wanted a five-pack of menthos peppermints, but it appears that Waitrose no longer stock them. Grrrrrrrrrrr! So legged it to B&M and found some in there.

Had an impulse purchase in B&M of a pack of saveloys. Perhaps best not think about what's in them, but I just really fancy some with chips. It'll be a treat for the weekend.

A quick but tasty supper tonight of a salmon & cucumber sandwich, followed by some of the banana pancakes that were left over from the other night.

Now intend on a quiet evening watching the football.

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
We have a broken single bed in the house in the bedroom I decorated last week: I spotted it whilst moving furniture to paint the walls. No-one is accepting responsibility but it wasn't me.

So this evening I picked up a new replacement for £40, discounted from £180.
