It's been a warm and mostly sunny day here chez Casa Reynard, albeit with a fairly brisk easterly.
Did not sleep well, but admittedly it was self-inflicted as I got up to write down a plot bunny that was going round in my head just as I was drifting off to sleep.. As it was a good one, I did not want to forget it - not related to the novel. It's based on a news article I read yesterday and chatted with a friend about.
It's been filed among other similar story ideas under the title "You Can't Eat a Kalashnikov"
Was about 5am by the time I finally was ready for bed. With fairly obvious consequences. Anyway, I nodded off eventually, but have been navigating the day on about 5 hours sleep.
So downstairs, fed the cat, made myself a
and took it back upstairs to do some writing - on the novel this time.
Did the chores at a better hour, then spent the rest of the morning weeding and cutting back some roses that were dingle dangling at eye level. Still a fair bit to do, but it looks SO much more tidy.
Had a lovely luncheon of a cheese salad roll, the last banana and a small pot of tea.
The afternoon was spent back out in the garden, strimming and scything. The thicker strimmer cord works really well on the cutting, but it keeps getting stuck in the spool, so I have to dismantle the head to pull out new line. Again, still plenty to do, but looks fabby.
Spent the early evening finishing off making the Polish plum spread. That's now all in jars.
Had a lovely supper of mushroom stroganoff with rice.
Have watched Sewing Bee and some football. A quiet remainder of the evening is planned.
