A woman driver caused me to come off my bike! I was freewheeling down a hill picking up speed. A woman in a car came out from a junction to a housing estate on my right, theroad has a give way sign. As I approached the junction the car continued to exit the side road and seeing an impending collision I applied full brakes. As my speed slowed the back wheel started to lift and I almost went over the bars, I fell over sideways hitting my crash helmet on the road. I ended up on the road with the bike on top of me.
The woman got out of her car to see if I was alright. She said she stopped! She might have and so had I. She asked me why I had stopped? I could see an impending impact and took avoiding action. She went to ask a driver who had witnessed it what he thought. He asked her if she would have continued to exit the junction if I was in a car? There doesn't seem to be any damage.

More importantly, is the bike OK?

Hope you're not too ouchie xxx :hugs:

Back home again, Islay trip completed. Pleased I went, even if I missed out on the first night in Jura and a chance to explore it in more detail.

Weather was better than forecast really. I enjoyed the ride between Port Charlotte and Port Ellen this morning, despite the horrendous head wind. A more or less deserted road with lovely views, what's not to like.

I took the time to look around the Round Church in Bowmore. An interesting building.

The ferry crossing was rough to put it mildly, but we got there safely. My car was still present and correct and not clamped! I wasn't sure how much I trusted the online parking app, but it obviously works.

Port I have to go back to work tomorrow.xx(

This morning I popped out to post some parcels and stopped at a different café than usual. I used cafés a lot to break up the day and on rides, choosing independent outlets where I can. Given I don't drink, smoke, gamble or chase inappropriate women it's about the only vice I have. Even the bikes (generally) pay for themselves with commuting costs saved and sales.

The staff there - both of them - were incredibly grumpy and appeared annoyed a customer had arrived. And it was about 50% more expensive than the others I tend to use.

I won't be back and Google reviews state similar experiences.
You keep your chasing to appropriate women?

Sat listening to my songs on Spotify for over three hours. You would not believe how many times the fi l sucks, snuffles blows his nose in a day,and not forgetting the sneezing which spews his footing germs all over the house.I have known hundreds of people through my time with Royal Mail in my cycling world and church, but nobody ever has this habit,it like being tortured slowly.
