For the last 3 days they've been working on a wartime bomb dredged up in Yarmouth, and it went off a couple of hours ago whilst they were trying to disarm it. Fortunately they were working by remote control, so nobody's hurt, and they'd built a 400 ton sand bunker to contain the blast, so the damage might be minimal too. There's a gas main that needs checking apparently.

Yep, it's been all over the local news. And, as Commander Ivanova so succinctly puts it...

BOOM.

What's all this going into town for the "Experience!"
The experience I want is to be able to buy what I want! I don't want a town full of coffee shops mistake agents and people sleeping in doorways !

A good day today.Work was easy and unstressed, Car given a wash this evening (and looking good) then a pizza and bottle of wine tonight Infront of a movie while the cat slept through it.
Tomorrow I'm off to Chester to visit my ex brother in-law for a pub meal. He's been through the mill these last few months after ending up being made homeless after a 25 relationship , and with all the stress and anxiety suffered a heart attack when living with me over Christmas. He's on the mend but still very fragile.
Edit.
Gutted my favorite leather jacket got binned today after the zip broke. It was well past it's sell by date (just like me) 🤣👍

That was quite a bit of fun at Lea Valley this afternoon.

There were only 4 of us at the session so plenty of space and a bit more time on track. After a couple of laps on the flat bit to get used to the bikes we were given a series of laps moving up the lines each time from the Cote d'Azure strip and on to the banking proper to try the black, red and blue lines at a decent pace. After a quick debrief and instruction on passing etiquete we were then allowed out to play on our own for something like 20+ minutes, another short break to get a drink followed by some close group riding and then team persuit type laps with the leader pulling out and dropping to the back each lap.

As the oldest, it was good to see I wasn't the slowest in the free laps (), but it was harder than I expected to maintain a decent pace for any length of time. The most interesting thing was how stable riding on the steep banking felt and, as for the speed boost coming off the top of the corner banking onto the straights,:ohmy::ohmy:

I can highly recommend giving it a go, but I don't think I'll be following @DCLane in track riding regularly.
