A mild and blustery day here today, with the sun doing the hokey kokey. No rain as yet, but it is forecast.

I slept so-so. Started off well, but then needed a trip to the little girls' room, and after that I only dozed. Hey ho. I have had a quiet morning compiling a set of references for a piece of motor racing research I am doing. The subject area is poorly documented and I can't take the sources I find / acquire to be entirely accurate. So I can only nail things down if I have two or more references saying the same thing. It's been a frustrating exercise, but I *am* getting there.

This afternoon, I am off to bottle feed some lambs.

It is time for luncheon.

How did people in the past cycle with 52/48 chainrings with only 5 rear sprockets ?

This evening I'm listing a Barron on eBay that has a 54 front and a 23 as the smallest rear cog.

I knew the previous owner, having bought it after he died; his thighs weren't big enough to push that!

I've just dug my 52 year old Holdsworth Record out of my garage . I had to shift a few bikes first . It is a bit grubby but still looks pretty good. Apart from the tyres that is ! The tread has started to come off.
How did people in the past cycle with 52/48 chainrings with only 5 rear sprockets ?

When I started 3 was reckoned to be normal and 4 was just showing off.

Mom says the disaster in the basement has been cleaned up. it's been 2 weeks. looking forward to checking it when I go this weekend. I'm guessing another contractor will be required to replace the floors, walls & ceilings ...

I am expecting loud raised voices when Mrs P comes in from shopping.Her 92 year old dad has phoned.The crappy useless dentists have telephoned him and cancelled his appointment,and he does not know why.He is not good on the phone or forceful enough with people,but the thing that is upsetting him is they have a fistfull of his cash already and he has seen nowt.Now we here in Leeds have to move things around to go see him or take him to see people,this is what is going to light Mrs p's fuse,i expect fireworks,i will let you know the outcome plus the oven people have not telephoned yet either.

I added our local poo bin catastrophe to 'fixmystreet'.

Some of ours regularly get in that state. The guys who empty them do a grand job but bigger/more bins might help.
