Thinking the same re batteries depends how much amp hours you want. Some are a too cheep and poor quality, other's are massively over priced. Some are a good balance between the two.

As ever finding the balance is the challenge.

How badly, on the few occasions we are off grid, do I want to use the microwave.
The van has a strong bias to gas and we can use autogas - just have to find it.
200Ah is loads for a few days, especially when it's sunny

Morning.
It is grey here with a few light grey patches. At least it's dry at the moment .
We stayed up late last night watching Magpie Murders! We are tired this morning . It had more twists than a corkscrew! We eventually got into it and wanted to know what happened. What I wasn't too keen on was how it kept swapping back and forth from the book to reality.

Lovely sunny morning with light wind.
Highland Council are panicking. There are new restrictions on the A82 with a 30mph speed limit at Corran Ferry entrance and traffic management to maximise use of space.
This is because there is only one small ferry in use as the others have broken down and due to tidal conditions there are no suitable vessels to hire or buy.
With the run up to Easter and the plague of touroid chaos is predicted.
I could go out for a trike run today but there will be far too much traffic on single track roads heading for the beaches or just driving around.
Ernie is not going to tell me how much I get this month for another couple of days and to add injury one of my small pensions has sent a P60 with a change of tax code which means it is now taxed. Better not start on that.
When I was self employed we had an accountant who did all financial stuff and he was very good.

Well ! That was a complete waste of time !
Yesterday I thought I had better fit some new tyres on my Holdsworth Record before taking it out for a ride . The very old tyres were getting a bit tired , the tread was starting to come off. I had a new pair of Continental Gatorhardshell 32 mm x27 inch tyres , so I had a go at fitting them . At first the bead wouldn't stay in the rim . It was a right struggle but I eventually managed it . I even fitted them without pinching the inner tube . It was a struggle getting them past the brake blocks, I let the air out ! The rear wheel was a bit more difficult, not only was it tight between the brake blocks but the distance to the BB was tight before it went into the dropout! I got them both in only to discover that they are too wide ! The gap between the tyre and the chain stays is at best 1/8 of an inch and 1/16 at worst! Any mud that the tyre picks up will wear my paint away! They are coming off!
