I see you might have rain today.

With the rain we've had I might need a man with a scythe. Any ideas?

Nah he's gone off for the weekend with 4 big blokes on black horses.

Another late in the day delivery by postie with a mains socket tester and a toaster. My 3 1/2 year old Russell Hobbs one gave me a slight electric shock the other day so the tester to check the sockets are okay, they are, and a new Braun toaster as a replacement. Just onto its third heat to remove odours.

Electrocuting toasters, added to my electrocuting kettle, hmm kitchen utensil revolt ?

Sunny all day so got some wood painted outside as a neighbour made me a garden gate from very new pallets he found lying around. They would just be dumped otherwise.
Got a tub of paint in Oban yesterday which was too much for the area but better than not enough and unable to get more so he can have the rest for a variety of projects he is busy with.
Campervan wars. A campervan parked in our residential street and looked to be settling down to stay. They seemed surprised that this was not a popular idea since they were told by several people to f--- off which they eventually did with very ill grace.
One neighbour is getting laminated notices made up pointing out that parking is for residents only as they are fed up not being able to park anywhere near their house due to random strangers. This is a newish problem caused by overtourism.
I have a large blue badge copy I stick up if I expect to be back the same day to deter strangers parking. Does not always work.
Went down to Calmac office to change a booking but it was shut for in house training and cannot get any of the local offices on the phone. Everything is now shut down until Tuesday so far as bookings are concerned to allow for the introduction of more chaos due to the introduction of a paperless system.
The local offices do not answer and you used to get the call centre after listening to interminable garbage about how good they are etc.
The problem is the call centre knows nothing and can only take bookings if the computer tells them it is ok but they have no knowledge of local conditions. The local offices have actual useful information if you can get hold of them.

Had a nice little 40 miler earlier on the single speed. Spotted this parked outside a house. Don't see many of these around here.

Do you like lobster? How fresh do you like it? The lobster on the stall in Coventry fish market this morning was that fresh it was crawling round the stall.

Son no. 2 picked up a fresh octopus and crab from the Leeds fish market when it was open, before the re-build. He must have been about 9 at the time.

He kept the crab alive for a few days, playing with it before cooking the poor thing. I had to keep telling him not to play with his food.
