It did in fact rain nearly all day but not as much wind as forecast. Not big drops but the insidious wet stuff that seems to soak you more effectively.
Our postal service has serious problems.
I went down to the post office which at one stage was where I had a darkroom for my photography sideline. There was a pile of parcels outside where those from outlying areas could root around if they were expecting anything and could take stuff for neighbours who could not get here. I don't think that would work anywhere else.
I went in and asked if anything had come in for me and after the two girls hunted around they found a couple of small packages I was expecting and a couple of letters. One of the letters was a hospital appointment but fortunately fairly far in advance.
Tomorrow one of them is going over to Dervaig public hall for a couple of hours with mail for people to collect.
Apparently RM is going over to electric vehicles but in the meantime the diesel ones are falling apart so no van no delivery and no postman either since they are so disgruntled.
The professional complainers are of course complaining about the ferry ticketing system but most seem to be getting the hang of it now with a few exceptions.
Of course we must not forget that Corran ferry [not Calmac] has been off for ages and not back for a while yet.
