Oh well. Indoor trainer and Zwift today then.

That's a typical day in West Yorkshire. We frequently ride in that as we've few other options.

I'm catching you up! 69+.

You'll not catch me up, and I'll never catch @dave r up!

All this talk of things which measure our cycling performance why isn't there something which offers the cyclist a bit of encouragement on those days when you are feeling carp and just doing a couple of miles seems like a marathon !
I set off for a ride the other day and the first few hundred yards felt like hell!
I don't think there can be anything more depressing than cycling up a gradient into a headwind looking up occasionally to see an object in the distance not getting any bigger after what seems like hours of pedalling!
I think that's one of the major drawbacks of an exercise machine !

You'll not catch me. Can you remember when you first rode a bike? mid 1950's for me, a single speed with solid tyres brought for Xmas by my Dad. On my first ride my Dad showed me what everything did then said "I'll hold the saddle and you pedal", a hundred yards down the road I looked round and he was stood watching me and I was on my own, I've been riding regularly since then.
