Odd that it was only 6 months ago when firms were crying out for well qualified staff, particularly engineers! Seems to have gone off a cliff-edge?

I'm qualified in an area where the sector is allegedly crying out for people, but it's astonishing how sniffy employers suddenly get when presented a CV.

As ranted about mentioned on Thursday, I offered to go in to work on Friday to sort out a load of previously identified goods being imported for those of questionable taste. Who in their right mind would want a 6' x 3' Versace table and set of 6 chairs in their living room (fake obviously - Versace have confirmed it's not something they make!). Just the thing to go with the mirrored 'Chanel' side tables we stopped a few years ago as now installed in our tea point/rest area at work.

Does that kind of thing come in to order, and where would it be sold? There’s a photographer called Taryn Simon who worked in JFK Airport for five days and nights photographing confiscated items from passengers and international mail. It’s all in a forensic style, every item is classified and the resultant book is fascinating, in a phone directory kind of way. I don’t think there’s a category for Coffee Tables: Designer Fake though. I shall look and report back.

It is nice when you find a boss who really appreciates your work. It makes all the others seem like a right load of Dick Heads !

Swapped my early morning ride for a walk instead I got sniffed and barked at by dogs, whistled at by birds .

It's chilly and blue skies here

Back to more normal weather for here.
Damp and windy but not yet raining and temp was 6.2C when I got out of bed.
Most of the snow has gone tho' there are still some small patches and even the higher bits I can see are clearing. Low cloud is blanketing the highest mountains but they probably still have snow.
May try going to the library which has reopened but there is no access for those less able to walk. I could probably take my car down to near the door so will just suss it out today.
I would assume the local council are breaking the law by not providing proper access but no idea where they could reasonably put it.

My friend didn't: he just sent a message saying her's off sick and can we delay the call a week? I'm not suprised; he is in charge of a Kindergarten which is marginally safer than a plague factory at the moment.
