Plucking up the energy to pop in the garage and put the new wheel on my MTB, but it's freezing. Spent a couple of hours yesterday fixing my car's wiper - the 'park' switch was faulty, but it meant the whole wiper motor and assembly needed to be replaced - fortunately I had one in the garage spare as I'd had to buy the whole lot when a small plastic part broke a few years back.

On the plus side, we popped into a discount meat/veg chilled food supplier yesterday. Picked up steak, beef rib joints and a rack of lamb, on the bone - looking forward to cooking that tonight - quite hard to get other than a buchers.

Good morning all. Yet another very frosty start to the day and it looks like we're in for more sunshine & light winds. I need to go out and get some milk, but other than that there's no plans other than not to do anything strenuous.

I'm thinking its more likely something like Mango or something like that, I think it was pre lockdown and they've since disappeared.
That may be what you were thinking of.

And Mango is indeed mainly a single speed based company. Still in business I think - I saw something from them recently !

As far as I know though. Mango came way after Fixie. Of which there are examples for sale on eBay. Both garish 🤣
Mango Bikes - customise your own fixie/single speed to make the most garish bike you can imagine!

We just had a very short power cut. Just long enough to reset all the electric clocks in the house.

Feeling much more like myself today so had a very quick bike ride to meet my tiny ride goals. It’s still really cold out there, and the ice/frost that melted yesterday is back again.

Got the energy and off I went to pop the rear superstar wheel on the MTB. The good news is the cassette and discs are spaced almost exactly so I don't see a need to re-calibrate everything if I swap back to my old wheels at any point. You usually get slight differences between manufacturers.

Did some checks on my car prior to the MOT on the 30th, then washed the Aygo - my car didn't need washing as it's not moved.

Gone back to wearing an Isle of Eriskay jersey hand knitted to a traditional pattern. Got out a spring balance and weighed it. One and one half kilos as it was knitted for somebody with a very large waistline and was a bit big for me but fortunately being in the business I had machinery which could reduce that to a more normal width.
Still pretty heavy tho’.
The pattern was made so that when or if a fisherman was lost at sea and the body was recovered some time after the area of origin could be identified and the remains returned to home territory for burial.
