While I was waiting for the parental, I did have a good peruse at the watch displays in the two jewellers in town. Why do they think that us ladies ALL want battery powered watches dripping with enough bling to keep Elizabeth Taylor happy? Other than a couple of vaguely plain Citizen eco-drives, there was nothing that I would call a practical choice for every day wear.

Although admittedly, both shops are small, so a better selection would be had elsewhere.

Anyways, time to feed the cats. I am currently not hungry, having finally eaten luncheon at 5pm.

Yet another text from the GP's asking me to make an appointment, for a BP check as it's been some time since they last did one.
That will be because I hardly ever need to go to see them. It's reminded me to get Mrs to do it , i'd do it but it's not as easy with only one hand free to do it.

I’ve defrosted (strictly de-iced) the freezer. Apologies for any sea-level rise you may experience.

Your kitchen floor will have got the worst of it. Unless you live in an upstairs flat, in which case your apologies may be needed downstairs.

Why they set ever other official holiday ? It's not the job of men in frocks to have any power over our laws or parliament.
But they do and are allowed to have get out's of laws they don't like. Only Iran allows them to have the same amout of power.
It's a Church Holiday first and foremost.
There were plans years ago to do away with Easter, but industry objected against it.

Sorry but it is most christian festivals in this county are long established Pagan festivals taken over and changed to suit the churches doctoring. Easter come's from long held festival celebrating goddess Eastre. Even Christmas both the time it's celebrated and many of it's tradition's have been taken over and changed by the church. Much of which involved days of merriment seen as not in keeping with religious celebration no wonder Cromwell banned it.

But they do it's in statue as a bank holiday, If it fall's on Sunday legally the Monday after becomes a substitute day.
Like last year technically Christmas day was 27th.
Legally if Christmas Day falls on a Sunday, it's not celebrated*, with Christmas Eve and Boxing Day being celebrated on their relevant days.

*Just think of the money you could save!
