4.5 mile walk to Asda and back this afternoon during which the sun made a fleeting appearance. Only saw one cyclist who had a buff across his mouth, my most disliked cycling garment. All hard surfaced paths and pavements clear of ice.
The Buff is one of my most useful winter cycling objects. Depending on the weather it can be a simple draft excluder for the neck, pulled up slightly higher to keep the lower face warm or right up to keep the head & ears warm. In addition, genuine Buffs are fantastic glasses cleaners.

As someone who is prone to sinus problems in cold weather, a buff to cover my mouth and nose is a God-send; albeit a cause of misted up specs.

They're remarkably good for running in too in colder weather. I often need to take mine off mid way through a run as I start to overheat. I do a double twist to keep it around my wrist where it becomes great for a drippy nose in the cold weather.

Astonishing in some cases: Some of the stuff you'd have to pay me to take it out of the building.

All those Heino albums may be worth something one day.

Reminds me of the time in first grade when we were playing some game in the school basement because it was too cold to play out of doors, and one of the girls screamed, which made them all scream like a turbo-jet. They had seen the shadow of a giant snake on the grille of the window. This was a python, escaped from the zoo, who came out of hiding to warm in the sun. Public educator from the zoo, famous on local Tv, came by in his Land Rover painted like a zebra to get the snake .The snake must have made for the river and swam 20 miles downstream, then came six blocks from the river to provide us this experience. I seem to think we were on the tele, and in the newspaper. I had no idea snakes were able to get that large. Because we were fairly ignorant back then.

wow, where was that? Florida?
